William Shakespeare was born in April 1564 tohis parents John and Mary Shakespeare.
His parents had already lost 2 daughters and William was their first child to survive. They lived in Warwickshire, his father was a glove maker and an illegal wool merchant. He was later part of the town's council and then made mayor. His mother was the daughter of a wealthy land owner.
When he reached 18 he started courting with a woman about 8 years his senior,, Anne Hathaway.
Anne shortly fell pregnant and the had to get married.
They married on November 28th 1582. Their daughter was born six months after and a couple of years later they had twins but they sadly lost the boy when he was 11.
He started off his acting career by joining the Kings Compan, they were based in a couple of different performance spaces around london. Southwark, The Globe and Blackfriars. He also started writing poems like 'venus and adonis' and 'the rape of lucrece'.
